yes you can use it without ssl fine
OMG, you mean that if the domain is enabled with SSL then you can’t use multi-site?
How can that be?
I just read another post that said the bolgs.dir directory MUST be set with 755 permissions?
Could that be the issue?

It seems to be going crazy at the moment, I am getting wordpress emails telling me new login information that doesn’t work, there are no admin panels, etc.
Are there any plugins in the Codex that automate the management of Multi-site?
Or should I say make it stable?

The SSL thing ONLY seems to affect subfolder installs. It works okay with subdomain in my experience. And it doesn’t make it unstable. Or really even less secure in the long run. It’s okay.

That’s a different matter. Are you trying to reset your password on your install?
