    Hi

I’ve migrated a site over to a new hosting account and I’m getting an issue where I can’t access any of the tabs on the UpdraftPlus page – when I click on any of the tabs nothing loads.

I’ve re-installed Updraft, tried on other browsers and disabled other plugins but I still get the same issue.

The following URL appears in the top bar when I click the settings tab: /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=updraftplus#updraft-navtab-settings-content

    ——

I’ve checked the console and I’m getting the following errors:

I’ve never come across this before.

Any ideas what’s causing it or how to fix it?

    Thanks

    Chloe

    Hi Chloe,

Can you confirm that you have disabled all other plugins?
Have you also tried switching to default WP theme?

    Hi Bryle

Yes I’ve tried disabling plugins and switching to the default theme but this didn’t resolve the issue.

    Chloe

@chloej Can you please check if you have latest WordPress core files installed? May be you can update WP again to latest version?

Check if updating WordPress helps to fix the issue?

    Thanks,
    Harshad

    Hi Harshad

Yes I have the latest version of WordPress already installed.

Is there any way to completely de-install updraft and all it’s settings so I can start again from scratch? The only way I’ve seen is via a setting on one of the tabs but I can’t access any of the tabs at the moment.

    Thanks

    Chloe

    @chloej

You can delete the updraftplus folder inside wp-content/plugins using FTP/SFTP like FileZilla.

Then re-upload the updraftplus plugin files again via FTP.

    To do this:

    1. Unzip the UpdraftPlus ZIP on your local machine, using a zip utility such as 7-zip.
    2. Access your WordPress installation via FTP or your host’s filemanager.
    3. Navigate to wp-content/plugins. Upload the UpdraftPlus folder here.
    4. Go to the Plugins page on your WordPress dashboard. You should see UpdraftPlus in the list of plugins.

    Thanks,
    Harshad

    Hi Harshad

Removing the files doesn’t remove the settings though – when I reinstall the plugin the settings (and errors) are still there.

I need to know whether there’s a way of completely removing the plugin and all of the settings without being able to access the settings tabs.

    Thanks

    Chloe

    @bornforphp

I have now looked at the database and found a lot of entries under “wp_options” from “updraft_dropbox” to “updraftplus_dismisseddashnotice”.

Can I safely delete all of these entries?

Will this remove all of the plugin’s settings or are there other entires elsewhere in the database?

    Thanks

    Chloe

@chloej Yes you can delete the rows from wp_options table to remove the settings.

Yes thanks … and where can I find “wp_options”?

@ela2015 wp_options is one of the core WP tables, it can be found inside your database.

What was the resolution here? I’m having the same problem and hesitate to upgrade WordPress without first having a good backup.

    Still no resolution unfortunately πŸ™

I removed the rows mentioned above from the database and did a clean install but this didn’t fix the problem and I still can’t access the settings tab.

I found a solution, although not where I expected to. At the top of the wp-admin window, I noticed an UpdraftPlus tag. The settings button under that allowed me to get in and make the changes I needed.

I don’t know if this will apply to you, but just in case…

Ah ha! I had removed this but when I added it back in it worked!

    Thanks for the tip πŸ™‚
