    Hi team,

I’ve tried to active this plugin in a couple of domains today, and getting the same error in both – different servers.

Once I try to active, the message I got is:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘class’ (T_CLASS), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or variable (T_VARIABLE) or ‘{‘ or ‘$’ in /usr/home/domain.com/web/wp-content/plugins/wp-staging/wp-staging.php on line 45.

I wonder what may the issue here 🙁

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi @gcdels46
It looks like both servers have PHP version older than 5.5? Actually the plugin supports PHP version 5.5 or greater, and WordPress itself recommends PHP version 7.4 or greater.

Actually, PHP 5.5 was released back in 2013, if you are running an older version than that, then you are running something that is more than 8 years old! I highly recommend upgrading PHP version on these servers for both security and performance reasons.

    Thanks,
    Alaa
