I’ve tried activating the plugin, but I get an error that I need PHP 5.4+ I checked my hosting and it uses 5.4.24. Haven’t been able to find a solution, any ideas?

I went in to the directory where the WordPress installation and assets are and ran php -v I got:

    PHP 5.6.32 (cli)

    If this helps. Thanks!

Did some troubleshooting and made a change to my hosting and deactivated a plugin that may have been interfering. Not sure which one made it happen, but all is good now!

I’m glad you solved this one! I’ll rework the activation a little bit soon, hopefully, that clears up any potential issues for others down the road.
