Can't activate the plugin

Hi,

I installed the plugin but can’t activate it. I have a few days old fresh WP install (installed 4.4.1 and since yesterday’s autoupdate the WP version is 4.4.2, I installed Ultimate Social Media Icons PLUS after WP autoupdated).

I installed a few other plugins (Ajax Load More, Better Search Replace, Enlighter and Post Type Switcher) and they all work as expected. The theme is Twenty Sixteen (if that matters) and I tried to deactivate all other plugins but still couldn’t activate Ultimate Social Media Icons PLUS (after clicking on Activate nothing changes and the link still says Activate).

I tried to use your older plugin Social Media and Share Icons (Ultimate Social Media) and the problem is exactly the same – I can’t activate neither that plugin.

Unfortunately I can’t send you a link because I installed WP on the server inside my local network (the server is Raspberry Pi accessed from the Windows PC) as a testing environment before moving the site to a real server. However, if you really really would like to take a look at the test site then I could open port 80 and send you my temporary IP (since I don’t have the static one) or could even temporary configure some dynamic DNS service so you can access my test WP server.

Does you plugin maybe require some special dir/file permissions to be activated or do you have any idea what might cause such a problem? As I’ve said, everything else (WP autoupdate, installing/activating other plugins, …) is working without problems and I chown-ed the /var/www/html (the root of the Apache) with:

sudo chown -R www-data:www-data html/

BTW, almost a year ago I was experimenting with the WP on some free server and then your older Social Media and Share Icons (Ultimate Social Media) plugin worked OK.
