After clicking finish it should add the shortcode to the editor wherever your cursor was when you clicked the “Add Image Collage” button.
Could you try disabling all other plugins for a second and see if it works then?
If not, try switching to a default theme (like Twenty Seventeen) and check again.

Was able to solve the problem by managing plugins per suggestion, thanks.
Quick follow up question: should Premium version be installed over the free version? Or should free be uninstalled first? In other words, best path to installing Premium version?
Thanks

Happy to hear!
You deactivate the free version first and then install the Premium one to replace it. Deactivated or deleting the plugin will not delete any collages. They will show up again as soon as you activate the Premium plugin.

I experienced the same issue as @afc007. I also was able to find the plugin that caused the conflict by checking which plugins that I added after I installed the Easy Image Collage. I deactivated those plugin (one at a time) and voila, one of the two plugins was the culprit.
Fortunately, the “offending” plugin is insignificant, and I can find an alternative solution to replace the function of the other plugin.
Thank you, Brecht for sharing this beautiful plugin.
