I’m sure this is probably a simple fix but I searched and searched and all the things I tried did not solve the problem. On some of my pages I am loading multiple albums and I have them set to load an overlay. The overlay opens and I can select individual photos but I can’t seem to figure out how to close the overlay. I have to use the “Back” button on the browser or reload the page. I tried reducing the Overlaid (popup) Gallery Panel Width and this did not help. I also tried several different Lightbox plugins and this did not help either.

Thank you for your help in advanced!

I am seeing the icon to close the overlay without any issues. Do you have the admin toolbar running across the top of your site when you are logged in? That will prevent the “x” from showing up. If you disable the admin bar (from the dashboard, under Users → Your Profile → Toolbar) you should be fine. Note that non-logged in users (like myself) anyway don’t see the bar, so it is not an issue for them.

Ok, that worked. I feel a little dumb but that is an annoying limitation. I like having the toolbar up so I can quickly jump to editing a page I’m viewing. I’m surprised that was hidden on all of the lightboxes.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply. This really is an excellent plugin! I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into it.

One thing you can try is to open the page in Incognito mode, and leave the admin bar on in the main window. That will let you edit stuff, but you can see your site in the Incognito mode the way an end-user would see it.
