Can't create a form…

We were using Visual Form Builder on our website previously, but I believe after some recent updates, it broke. This is where I come on the scene.
I saw that the plugin was not activated, so I activated it, but it doesn’t work. So I updated WordPress to the latest 3.5.1, updated Visual Form Builder to the latest 2.7.1 and everything else in WordPress that could be updated. Still no go. I have the new VFB icon on the admin page. I click it, says “you don’t seem to have any forms” so I click “add” enter the required info and “save” All appears to be accepted, but I just land back at the “you don’t appear to have any forms” message. There do not appear to be any forms created so I can’t proceed with the process.
What do I do? What am I doing wrong?
