Can’t create a new post

Hi, I created a role for my client so she can create new blog posts on her website – the boxes for editing and creating posts are checked. But when I log in as my client, I get a blank page when I want to create a new post. I am however able to edit existing posts.

What am I overlooking here?

Thanks for using PublishPress Capabilities.

You are not overlooking, and your settings have been correct. I have a feeling that other plugins installed on your site are affecting it. Could you please temporarily deactivate all plugins except PublishPress Capabilities to see if the issue persists?

What PHP version are you using? Have you tried changing the PHP version to see if it gives a different result?

Hi Riza, it took a while but it is not resolved yet. I changed the PHP version, but the issue remains.

What is the next step?

Please share some screenshot on your capabilities setting of that role, so we can check this further.

Is it post or page? Your post setting has been correct. However if it’s page, you need to enable create_pages

It’s for posts, not pages. So if the settings for posts are correct, why can’t I create posts with this role? 🙁

@drbritt44 I made a custom role with the same configuration as yours and encountered no problems. You can witness it working here: https://www.loom.com/share/dd22e5ee6ec64c8ba037e7bc7bc68f93

Would you like to try copying an existing role instead? You can copy from either the editor or author role and then customize it to fit your needs.
