I updated Better Docs to version 3.0 and since then I can no longer edit old posts or create new ones. There seems to be a problem with saving.
Also, settings are no longer saved. I always get the message “Something is wrong”.
    Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

  • Hi cosmins75,
Greetings. Hope you are doing well.

We are really sorry to hear that. Actually, it seems like an unusual issue. I have checked this on my end using the latest BetterDocs plugin version 3.0.0 and found that I can edit the old docs properly. Please check this screencast: https://d.pr/v/1tBYHq

It seems like an unusual issue. Will you please download the BetterDocs plugin from here: https://d.pr/f/rq0Jmu and install it on your website? Before installing this, please uninstall and delete the previously installed BetterDocs plugin.

Let me know how it goes.
    Thank you.

    Hi @amitbarai013!

I did exactly as you indicated but the problems are the same.

The WordPress version is 6.4.1 and I use the following plugins:
    Better Docs  3.0.0
CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent 3.1.6
    Elementor 3.17.3
    Elementor Pro 3.17.1
    WP Rocket 3.15.4
    Yoast SEO 21.5

I deactivated all plugins but the same. I downgraded Better Docs, the same.

I think the problem comes from the WordPress 6.4 version.

    Thank you!

    Hi cosmins75,

Thank you for providing the details. I’ve attempted to replicate the issue on our end but couldn’t reproduce that. I’ve tested with WordPress version 6.4.11, BetterDocs version 3.0.0, and Elementor version 3.17.3, and I can edit old documents and create new ones without encountering any problems.

To better understand the issue, we’ve requested troubleshooting details. We hope you understand the necessity for this. If possible, could you replicate the scenario on a staging site? Also, please feel free to contact us here, and we’ll be more than happy to assist you in resolving this matter.

    Hope to hear from you.

    Thank you.
    Have a good day!

The issue has been resolved thanks to the BetterDocs support team.

The reason was some code from .htaccess that adds a backslash at the end of the URL if doesn’t have one:

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(.[a-zA-Z0-9]{1,5}|/)$
    RewriteRule (.*) $1/ [L,R=301]
