I installed this plugin to try it out and first thing I did was go to the media area of wordpress. All images were gone (not displaying).

I decided to play it safe and deactivate the plugin to make sure the images were not lost. I could not deactivate it.

When I click deactivate the page gets a dark overlay with nothing else on it. If I click anywhere in the page the dark overlay goes away. No way to deactivate.

I had to go into file manager and rename the plugin folder. My images were displayed again in the media area and the plugin showed as deactivated. I since deleted it.

I have read other posts saying they had their images disappear and it seems like it causes wordpress to no longer be able to locate the images even though they may still be on the server. I am not convinced it is safe to use. It’s sad because it looks quite nice but I am not willing to risk losing all my images because its not working correctly.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Surely it cant be normal behavior. I am using default wordpress theme 2017. Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. Before I try version 2.1 I would like to know if the plugin will uninstall cleanly? Meaning, if the plugin is removed will all media remain in the wordpress media area as it was before the plugin was installed? This is very important to know.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

That’s right. If the plugin is removed, all media remain in the WP media area as it was before the plugin was installed.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can ever help you with.

@mcarman: @ninjateam Same problem is here!
Have you found a way to solve the problem with the deinstallation?
Ok, it’s 5 month ago. We installed WP 5.3 and had a lot of trouble with the Media Library Folders plugin.
Because we could not update directly to version 3.5, we wanted to delete it – see above for our problem…
    Thx for your support

    Hi @brandcraftde ,

It seems a JS conflict appears on your site.

Please try deactivate all plugins except FileBird and change theme to default WP theme, then you can deactivate FileBird.

Or you can open FTP and change our FileBird folder name.

Let me know if those solutions help. And if possible, please send us the theme and list of plugins you are using.

    Best regards,
    Kelly

    @ninjateam
Hi Kelly, thx for your reply. I chose the FTP-Solution 🙂
I changed folder name and it was possible to delete.
    The other one failed (sorry).
Now we can try to install the updated version of MLF

Thanx a lot and best regards
    Andreas
