Can’t disable pop-up

I found this thread, suggesting it’s not possible to switch the pop-up off again without hacking the plugin to disable the script load?

Am I right that this is what’s being discussed there (since I don’t seem to be able to kill the pop-up!) and, are you anywhere near a fix. I need to switch this pop-up on and off fairly regularly, and it’s a pain in the **** to have to hack the plugin every time (not to mention remembering to re-hack it every time there’s an update.
