Can’t edit my WP forms
-
Hi,
I need support to help me find a solution about the fact that I can’t edit anymore all my WP forms. It was always working so well before.
I already desactivated and removed the plugin without success.
I desactivated all my plugins and re-activated one by one
I clear all the cache.
I checked the incompatibility – no success.
Please, what do you suggest
Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the issue editing your forms.
Would you mind checking your browser developer tools and sharing any errors that are visible on the JS Console or the Network tab? In case it helps, you can learn more about using developer tools in this guide.
Also, please share the details from WPForms > Tools > System Info (screenshot).
This information may help us better understand the issue you’re experiencing.
Thanks!
Hello Ralden and thank you for your help.
I made 2 screenshots of the errors appearing on the console, but I don’t know what to do about that… here are the links:

Thanks for sending the screenshots of the errors! I appreciate you taking the time to do that.
However, the screenshots you provided are from the front-end of your site (the part that visitors see). The issue we’re trying to solve is happening in the Form Builder (the area where you edit your forms), specifically when you’re trying to edit a form.
To get the most relevant information, we need to see the errors that appear in the JavaScript console while you’re in the Form Builder trying to edit the form.
Could you please try to edit the form again and then check the JS console for any errors? This will give us more specific information about what’s preventing you from editing the form. If you can provide screenshots of the errors from the Form Builder’s JS console, that would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks again for your cooperation!
Oups, sorry about that.
Here is the errors I see when I try to edit the form…. and by the way: I can never get to the form to edit because the page doesn’t load. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for sending the screenshots and the error messages.
I’ve noticed your site is using a Sucuri/Cloudproxy server (screenshot). The error “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500” indicates a server-side issue. This means something on your server is preventing the form builder from loading correctly. It’s possible your hosting provider recently made changes to the server, such as modifications to ModSecurity, new security rules, or optimizations, that are inadvertently causing this conflict.
I strongly recommend contacting your hosting provider and reporting this error to them. They have access to your server logs and configuration and are the best resource to diagnose and resolve 500 errors. Provide them with the screenshots and error messages you shared with me.
Once you’ve contacted your hosting provider, please let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thank you. I just send a support request to GoDaddy. I will let you know the outcome.
Hi Christine,
Thanks for letting me know you’ve contacted GoDaddy support. That’s great!
I look forward to hearing back from you about the outcome. Hopefully, they’ll be able to identify and fix the server issue that’s causing the 500 errors and preventing you from editing your forms.
Once they’ve had a chance to investigate, please let me know if you’re able to edit your forms again. I’m here to help if you need any further assistance.
Thanks!
We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
Thanks!
Good morning. I finally received a final answer form GoDaddy. Please what do you recommand, as I’m still not able to edit the WPForms plugins. Thank you.
Copy of GoDaddy messages (2) :
- I was able to login to the WP Admin using the credentials you provided and got into the WPForms: https://snipboard.io/oYuQf2.jpg However, I encountered errors in Console. https://snipboard.io/glO78B.jpg I am sending your message to a senior analyst for further review. Due to the complexity of your issue, this may take a little bit longer to resolve. We appreciate your patience.
- I’ve now had a chance to investigate the issue in detail. Following your instructions (I gave a full access to the WordPress admin panel), I was able to replicate the issue you described when attempting to edit forms using the WPForms plugin: https://snipboard.io/6e8QcK.jpg Specifically, I observed a 500 Internal Server Error being returned in the browser’s developer console for the following resource: https://www.caravanasmexico.com/francais/wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/assets/pro/js/admin/builder/fields/content.min.js?ver=1.9.4.2 It’s important to note that 500 Internal Server Errors are generated by the hosting web server and not by the Firewall service. These types of errors are typically related to misconfigurations within the site’s application code, plugin conflicts, or issues in the server environment. More information about the 500 errors can be found in the link below: https://blog.sucuri.net/2022/09/what-is-a-500-internal-server-error-how-to-fix-it.html To further isolate the issue and confirm whether the Firewall might be contributing to the error, I temporarily disabled the Firewall Bypass Prevention rules that had been added earlier to the .htaccess file. This allowed me to directly access your site through the hosting IP address 107.180.117.240, bypassing the firewall, in accordance with the instructions provided here: https://www.godaddy.com/help/bypass-the-web-application-firewall-waf-for-testing-41825 After testing the WPForms builder again directly through the hosting IP (107.180.117.240), I received the same 500 error, confirming that the issue is not caused by the Firewall. Instead, it appears to be related to something on the hosting side or within the WordPress application itself. https://snipboard.io/OU7tvl.jpghttps://snipboard.io/SN6ua4.jpghttps://snipboard.io/VDc0G5.jpg In addition, I reviewed the server’s Apache error logs and discovered a large number of entries similar to the following: [Mon Mar 24 03:56:16.587538 2025] [core:error] [pid 2935180:tid 2935386] [remote 10.38.56.223:60049] AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the limit if necessary. Use ‘LogLevel debug’ to get a backtrace., referer: https://www.caravanasmexico.com/francais/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpforms-builder&view=fields&form_id=4212&force_desktop_view=1 This error typically occurs when the server is caught in a loop of internal redirects, often due to rewrite rules or plugin behavior that unintentionally trigger repeated redirects, especially when combined with multilingual site setups, or misconfigurations in .htaccess or plugin routing. As this behavior is happening entirely within the hosting environment and application layer, it is beyond the scope of our support for Website Security services. Please note that your Website Security subscription includes support for services such as the Firewall, SSL, Backups, and Monitoring. However, issues directly related to WordPress plugins, themes, or the server configuration (such as this one) would need to be reviewed either by your site developer or by our hosting support team. You can reach out to our hosting support department through the following link for further assistance: https://www.godaddy.com/contact-us They will be in a better position to assist you in reviewing your hosting setup and identifying what may be causing the WPForms builder to return 500 errors. Finally, I’d like to confirm that after completing our tests, we have re-enabled the Firewall Bypass Prevention rules on your site to ensure that all incoming requests continue to be properly filtered through the Website Firewall for security purposes. I’ve also checked the site from various endpoints around the globe to ensure it’s loading properly: https://testlocal.ly/tests/67e142cb5fad633ecf0be415 Please let us know if there’s anything else we can assist you with regarding your Website Security services. Best regards, Ivan
Thanks for sharing the detailed responses from GoDaddy. I appreciate you keeping me updated.
It seems from the first message that a senior analyst is going to review your issue (“I am sending your message to a senior analyst for further review”).
The second message, from the Website Security team, indicates the problem isn’t related to their security services. They recommend contacting GoDaddy’s hosting support team for further assistance:

Given this information, I recommend a couple of things:
- Check for Theme Conflict: You informed us that you deactivated and reactivated all of your plugins, but you did not let us know if you checked for a theme conflict. The issue might be related to your StrongHold theme. It hasn’t been updated in over four years and is significantly behind the current WordPress version. Outdated themes can sometimes cause compatibility problems. I recommend testing for a theme conflict by temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Four. This will help determine if your theme is contributing to the problem. Here’s our guide on how to test for theme conflicts.
- Contact GoDaddy Hosting Support: Please confirm if the issue was sent to a senior analyst. They are best equipped to investigate server-side errors and configuration issues.
Please let me know after checking the two points above.
Thanks!
Hi, Thank you for your recommandations.
Without doing absolutely nothing, I went on the admin dashboard this morning, and I tried to edit one more time the WPForms plugin, and guess what…it works!
So I don’t have any idea what happened, but for now i’m ok.
Thank you for your support.
That’s wonderful news! I’m so glad to hear that the issue is resolved and you’re able to edit your forms again.
It’s possible the GoDaddy team made some updates or adjustments on their end that addressed the underlying problem, even though you didn’t take any further action. Sometimes these things happen behind the scenes.
In any case, I’m happy everything is working correctly now. If you encounter any further issues or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help!
Thanks!
