can't edit permalinks

    My permalink for my blog page is /blog-3/ as I have created a few pages before. Despite the fact there is definitely only one blog page and nothing in the trash, I can’t change the permalink back to /blog/

    Any thoughts? I’ve trawled some forums but none of the solutions work as there is nothing in my trash to delete.

    I was just having a similar problem this morning here is how I fixed it.

    Hit the Update button after hitting OK.

    Quite a number of things are like that in WordPress: hitting Update is the only way that you make the changes permanent.
