• Hello! We have a site that uses Wordfence that flags every attempt to edit a post as “Unauthorized”. Clicking “Allowlist this action” just creates a loop where the message keeps appearing. The only way to resolve the issue is to put Wordfence in Learning Mode. Is there any way to solve the issue permanently?

Hi @pmluther, thanks for getting in touch.

The attempts to post/edit that are blocked will be logged in Live Traffic at the timestamp when you received the message in-browser. Check the red block reason after expanding an entry with the eye icon in the corner. You can filter Live Traffic by “Blocked” so they’re easier to find. You may find a specific firewall rule, setting, or other message after expanding the entry as the reason is shown in red text.

Can you share that information with us and let us know if you’re using any additional plugins to make posts rather than the default WordPress editor?

    Thanks,
    Peter.

Thank you for your response! The reason it gives for being blocked is “blocked by firewall for XSS: Cross Site Scripting in POST body:” when I checked the Live Traffic section. We are using the Classic Editor plugin to edit our posts.

I tried to use the “Add param to firewall allowlist” option on the Live Traffic page, but the error still shows up.
