Can’t edit product when plugin is enabled

    Dear support team,

    When the plugin is enabled, I can’t edit any product. It shows “503” error.
    My website is still OK.
    If I disable the plugin, I can edit products as usual.

    Hi @winzyatan,

    Could you please confirm that you’re using the latest version (2.3.1) of the plugin and that your version of WooCommerce is up to date?

    Additionally, could you please check if the issue exists with the [Storefront] theme activated? Finally, can you replicate the issue with just WooCommerce and the Facebook for WooCommerce extension activated?

    I am using ‘Facebook for WooCommerce’ 2.3.1 and ‘WooCommerce’ 5.0.0.

    With the [Storefront] theme activated, the issue still exists.

    I tried to deactivate all other plugins, only ‘Woocommerce’ and ‘Facebook for WooCommerce’ were active, but I still cannot edit any product.

    The problem is only resolved when I deactivate ‘Facebook for WooCommerce’.

    I have the same problem here!

    Though I can access the product edit page, but I can’t edit anything, it is not even possible to change product or gallery pictures.

    I can’t edit anything, when I inspect the site (product – backend) I get two problem messages:

    The resource https://stilomio.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-admin/dist/components/index.min.js?ver=2.0.2 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window’s load event. Please make sure it has an appropriate as value and it is preloaded intentionally.
    post.php?post=21873&action=edit:1 The resource https://stilomio.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-admin/dist/app/index.min.js?ver=2.0.2 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window’s load event. Please make sure it has an appropriate as value and it is preloaded intentionally.

    Hi @winzyatan

    The site’s PHP memory_limit could be causing the issue here.

    What the limit should be depends on how much else a site has going on. We generally recommend a limit of at least 512 MB to ensure that everything is covered, though some situations could demand more.

    Hi @winzyatan

    I’d recommend increasing the limit again.

    Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.  Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    I’ve increased it to 768M and 1024M (add define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '1024M'); in wp-config.php), but the issue still exists.

    Hi @winzyatan

    The status report shows a child theme is active as well as other plugins. After switching back to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-One and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and Facebook for WooComemrce, navigate to Settings > Permalinks and click the save button. Then try editing a product page to see if this resolves the problem.

    If this fixes the issue, then re-enable each plugin one at a time, then the theme, until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

    After disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and Facebook for WooCommerce, with Twenty Twenty-One theme activated, it works.
    – When I re-enable MailPoet 3 plugin, 100% the issue occurs.
    – When I re-enable other plugins, the issue sometimes occurs.

    Then I enable all plugins (except for MailPoet 3) and activate my theme. The issue is almost resolved, although it does still occur sometimes.

    Hi @winzyatan

    Great to hear that it works with only WooCommerce, Facebook and a default theme active.

    In this case it indeed sounds like the plugins running on the site are requiring a fair amount of memory to function correctly, and thus you will want to raise the limit until the site functions correctly will all necessary plugins active (it’s best to keep this to a minimum in the first place).

    I’ll mark this thread as resolved now, as we have been able to determine that the Facebook plugin is not the cause of the issue on the site.

    If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.
