Can't exclude custom post categories

Anyone tried excluding a custom post/listing category? These don’t show up (UCE only works with posts)?
UCE version: 0.96
PHP version: 5.4.33
MySQL version: 5.5.40-cll
WordPress version: 4.1
Theme: Responsive Directory Theme is version 8.0
Number of categories is: 1
