Hi, my website is suffering from the hack. I’ve read in your message that I have to update my plugin and then check the settings within the plugin, but I can’t reach my admin pages. When I use the WP app on my phone, it shows that version 3.65 is active, but when I try to reach the admin pages, I’m redirected to lightversionhotel. Can you help me fix this? Many thanks in advance!

  • I had this problem the other day. What I did was deleted the plug in and reinstall it. It works

    Hi @irenevankrieken,

Thank you for contacting and sorry for the inconvenience.
If you can connect to the admin panel via phone, please try to deactivate the plugin and let us know.
We will do some check ups on our end after.

We will be waiting for your reply.

    Hi @ksingnil,

Thanks @ksingnil and Support for your quick replies! I tried to delete and deactivate the plugin, but I get the message “The Jetpack site in inaccessible or returned an error: parse error. not well formed [-32700]”

    Hi @irenevankrieken,

As the issue is connected with the Jetpack please try to check by contacting their support so that they can surely say from where the issue comes from.

Please let me know once you have news on this.

Thank you. I contacted Jetpack, and they say they can’t help me unfortunately. They advice me to seek help with this program from a professional to clean my site.

@irenevankrieken First I would get rid of Jetpack, its a useless plugin that complicates things, and the fact that they refused to help you shows that it is not worth it.

Now to clean your website, if you have access to phpmyadmin, go to search, search for “String.fromCharCode”, select all tables to search in, you will end up with two results: sg_popup_scripts and sg_popup_options_preview

Edit the meta_value field of both of them and delete everything in it.

    Thank you @jojojijijojo
I tried, but it wasn’t the solution unfortunately. I contacted a professional service, hope they can help me tomorrow!

    Thanks for helping everyone

    Hi @irenevankrieken @jojojijijojo,

We have a new update 3.65.1 in which all these kind of third party scripts which affected to the functionality of the popup are now ignored.
    String.fromCharCode

You can delete them manually, but please be aware that they won’t interfere with the action of the popup.
