can't get emails out.

I plugged in “Email Users” about a month ago and it still doesn’t do what it’s suppose to. The reason I got it was to notify my users when a post is made or a comment is posted, etc. Does anyone know of something that works or something that could be wrong with this plugin. Thanks, Jack
