Can't get into admin area

    For about one month now, every time I log-in to any of my many WP sites, I get timed out. In addition, for hours afterwards, none of my sites come up. Have been on constant on-line chat mode with my host, Hostgator, who consistently say that all sites ARE up and running, and tonight say it must be a problem with my ISP. Quote from the latest chat transcript…

    the problem lies somewhere between your Internet Service Provider and our datacenter. We are able to get traffic to flow to the datacenter from multiple locations. However, when we attempt to trace the route from our datacenter in Provo, UT to your IP where you are located, the signal does not continue.

    I don’t accept that and keep asking why do all the sites go down straight after I try to access wp-admin. I am SO confused and frustrated. Help, anyone??

    If you have ftp access take a backup of your .htaccess file and the delete it

    looks like one of your plug in is creating this problem.

    I don’t trust hostgator for good customer support. they leave you hanging. I had account with them and i got frustrated and cancel it after four months of frustration. I paid them for nothing. very poor webhosting.
    my new webhosting provider took care of all issues in minutes.

    Your webhosting provider could get you in your control panel and change the wp admin setting and get you access to your dashborad. From there you can look for problems and plug ins that are creating issues.
