Can't get last post summaries in front page

Hi all,

On the front page I’d like to have all my entries in a summary form. Although I’ve check at settings-> reading-> front page displays -> “your latest posts” and below that “For each article in a feed, show” -> summary, it still displays the full entry on the front page. So I guess that “feed” referes to the RSS feed or whatever.

I’ve tried several themes with the same result.

Is there any way to have summaries on the front page?
