Good day. I want to set up wordpress to run locally on my pc. I cannot get passed http://localhost/becwordpress/wp-admin/install.php?step=2 of the installation. All I get at this stage of the installation is a blank web page with the Word Press logo at the top, no “Well done. Installation finished!”, or smething to that effect. The database has been setup using wamp. I am running XP Pro with SP3.

    Regards,
    Dion

Have you checked your server’s error logs for clues?

I did notice this in the log [Mon May 13 17:34:55 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: C:/wamp/www/favicon.ico. Would that cause the installation to halt?

No. That can be safely ignored.
