Cant get shortcode to work

    Hi!
    I cant get the [postexpirator] shortcode to work. I have added it inside my CPT loop as: <?php $expireDate = do_shortcode(‘[postexpirator type=”date”]’);?> and then echoing it but it is empty. I have set an expiring date on my posts in admin.
    Is it not possible to display it in a loop?
