    Hi @chinarose

This is Ioanna from Imagify and I’ll gladly assist you here!

Can you please confirm that you have checked our documentation link on how to check if WebP images are delivered on your website regarding the rewrite rules option https://imagify.io/documentation/how-to-check-if-webp-image-is-displayed-on-your-site/?

I see on your staging site that the image you are describing is correctly displayed as WebP, please check the following screenshot https://prnt.sc/190wl83

Also, it is displayed on the post you created https://prnt.sc/190xdod

Let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.

    Best regards,
    Ioanna

    Hi Loanna,

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it.

What I was looking for was the file extension that includes webp. If you see my screenshot with the red arrow: https://prnt.sc/1925am5 it still shows as .jpg as the file name. I was thinking it would show as .webp. But I do see now that in the “Type” column it is showing as webp.

So is this the expected behavior? And I am all set, the plugin is working as expected?

Then the next thing to do would be to optimize all the images on my site, then whether the post/page was written years ago, all images will be optimized and webp will be used across the site even if the image is a background image? Can you please confirm these points for me if possible?

    Thank you again,
    China

    Hi @chinarose

    Thank you for the updates!

Exactly you will have to look at the “Type” column and it should be WebP if that is the format the image is served in. This is the expected behavior and the plugin is working correctly.

About your last question for the background images, they will be displayed correctly in WebP as you are using the rewrite rules option.

    Thank you!
    Best regards,
    Ioanna
