  • Hello,

Did you create a custom header template under the Dashboard > Theme Panel > My library?
Also, try to follow the below steps if the customizer doesn’t display a dropdown field after choosing the Custom Header style.
    1. Update PHP version if it is not PHP7
    2. Increase the memory limit to 256M or higher – https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/56-increasing-memory-limit-to-php
    3. Disable all plugins except Ocean Extra + Elementor and check it works or not

I did create the custom header using that method, I have the latest version of PHP, I have disabled all plugins and that didn’t work. I have no clue how to access the wp-config.php. I downloaded the firezilla FTP client but I have no idea as to where to go from there. Forgive me I’m quite new with wordpress. I’m hosting my site locally.

If your site is in localhost, then just open the server root folder and open the project file – wordpress installation. You will see the wp-config.php file. Also, if you are on the localhost then there is no need for the FTP tools.

Okay, I increased the memory limit in the wp-config.php file to 256m but It still wont give me the additional dropdown when I choose custom header. Is there any plugins that would allow me to insert my custom header?

That’s very odd. Select custom header style and publish settings, then reload the page. It should work.

Didn’t work either, I must’ve done something that messed it up, It’s fine, I just realized I can insert the custom header manually page by page. Thankyou for the timely responses.

    Hello,

Yes, you can insert it for page/post from the OceanWP settings metabox. For the customize issue, it is very difficult to tell the correct reason without seeing the site settings.
