Can’t link plugin to Facebook

Hello!
I have problems with setting up Facebook for Woocommerce Plugin.
A year ago I tried doing it and I didn’t find a way to fix it.
Recently I started working on my website again and this time I will need the connection to work properly.
When I click the Get Started button I get redirected to Facebook and have this message “You’ve previously linked WooCommerce Integration to Facebook
Would you like to continue with your previous settings?”. When I continue everything seems to work fine and at the end I get this error message “Something went wrong.
This may be because of a technical error that we’re working to get fixed. Try reloading this page.”Can you please give me a hand in solving this issue?

Sorry to hear you’re encountering issues getting this set up.
To start I’d recommend checking out this section of the Facebook for WooCommerce support docs, this error typically points to a problem with supported currencies on Facebook and can often be resolved by changing the default currency type if necessary.
If this doesn’t resolve the issue please check for any errors logged – go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs, and look for Facebook in the dropdown, then click on View.

I changed the currency to USD but it still ends up at “Something went wrong. This may be because of a technical error that we’re working to get fixed. Try reloading this page.”.
I checked the log and it says “Unable to detect valid feed configuration: No catalog ID”.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

This error can sometimes occur if there are non-ascii characters in the page title. Can you try the following steps and let me know if it helps?
– Go to http://www.zdravital.bg/wp-admin/options.php
– Search forwc_facebook_external_business_id
– In the field next to it, change the data in that field to just the basic title of the page without any extra/special characters in place.
– Scroll to the bottom of this page and click Save Changes.
– In some cases, the data may not be saved due to larger databases and / or PHP settings, so after saving this, locate thewc_facebook_external_business_idfield again and verify that the changes in place did save.Once this is done, can you please try to connect to Facebook again and let me know if you get any further in the connection process?`
Right now the value of the field is “Здравитал” – in cyrillic. Is it possible that this is causing the problem?
Another thing that pops in my mind is the following – I checked other fields in the options.php and I see that they contain values from 2020… Could it be a problem related to the fact that this data is already populated in these fields. If so – how can I delete all the stored data and try again with a completely fresh plugin?

That could definitely be the cause. Can you try the following steps for us to reset the extension?
– Take a backup of your site (Important)
– Disconnect Facebook account from the Facebook for WooCommerce extension
– Go to http://www.zdravital.bg/wp-admin/options.php page
– Search for facebook and remove all the values of options that have facebook in the name
– Save changes. This should completely reset the extension and Facebook connection.Can you try connecting again and making sure the page title contains ascii characters?

I will give it a try asap but before that I have a question – should I rename the Facebook page itself since it is in cyrillic?

If the page title is in Cyrillic, renaming it to something that only uses characters from a standard English keyboard might be necessary to connect to Facebook.

It might be related to your Instagram account, as I’ve seen this issue happen in cases where the Instagram account had not been set as a Business account and/or isn’t connected to your Facebook page. There might be other reasons as well, but that tends to be the most common issues related to Instagram.
The Instagram profile was not connected to the page in the Business Manager. However, after connecting it – the problem persists. Can we look further in this?
Also, the product catalogue is not syncing can you help me on that as well?

Is it a Business account or a Personal? The Instagram account has to be classified as a Business account to make it work – if it is Personal then it will produce errors. Please double check it and make sure.

What error is it producing when logging is on and the catalog tries to sync? To see logs you can go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and check the Facebook log (it will be separated by plugin type and date).

the product catalogue is not syncing can you help me on that as well, do you mean it’s not connected to your Instagram catalog or to the Facebook catalog?Secondly about adding Instagram, I see that you have confirmed that your Instagram account is a business account, perhaps you converted this before from personal to business which is awesome!
The Next Steps
Not sure how you added Instagram account previously, could you please try again to do the following steps to add your Instagram account to your Facebook for WooCommerce connection through a Commerce account:
- Navigate to Marketing > Facebook
- Click Manage Connection
- Click on View next to Commerce Account: https://d.pr/i/vEsO3i
- On the next page, please click Add Instagram: https://d.pr/Xqktfb
If your Instagram account is eligible, it should work adding it.
If you see any error notice when adding the IG account, please take the screenshot so we can know the reason.
