Can’t log into WordPress, receiving error message
-
Since last week, I have a problem. When attempting to log into my blog, I get an error message, ‘ERROR: An error was encountered while trying to authenticate. Please try again’. It appears when the two-factor authentification page should open. Any suggestions?
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

What plugin(s) are you using for two factor auth?
LastPass
It’s not a plugin. . .
If you disable LastPass, does your WP site work correctly?
I see this error going to your wp-login.php page:
ERROR: cookies are blocked due to unexpected output. For help, please see this documentation or try the support forums. This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.
See http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/
I have health-check on the site.
Just tried to log in on another browser, with my email, and password as well as with my user name and password. It didn’t work> this time the error message was user doesn’t exist. Any thoughts?I should probably add that the website comes up when typing blog.holten.co.uk in the search bar
This article lists 7 completely different ways to reset your password. Any one of them will work and do the job. Find the one that’s right for you and use that: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/resetting-your-password/
Tried getting a password reset through email. The link provided opened a blank page.

Please review that article and use PHPMYADMIN to look in wp_users for your userid. Is it there?
I downloaded PHPMYADMIN, but couldn’t find wp_users at all.
What are your thoughts?
Would it be possible to migrate the site — and would it make a difference?
I have a recent backup.PHPMYADMIN is not something you download; it should be available on your host.
Looking through my host admin page, I couldn’t find ‘wp_users’
Looking in the blog folder, and following the link, this was what I found:
Oops! That page can’t be found. It is a table in your database. Please contact your host for help finding PHPMYADMIN in their control panel.
