Can’t Make A Payment

Woocommerce Square version 3.5.0
WordPress: 6.1.1

This just started happening. When a user goes to the checkout page, in the credit card area it shows the following:

Pay securely using your credit card.
There has been a critical error on this website.

I checked the error_log file and I see the following:

Thank you for reaching out about this. I visited the site at https://kattsremedies.com/ and was able to see that message on the Checkout page.

While testing with a test installation of mine, I could not reproduce the issue. It worked as expected (screenshot showcasing this, linked here).

To help you further, I’d like to understand more about your setup.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com/ and feel free to change/remove your site URL in the report for privacy reasons.

You can paste the Gist link here in your reply, once you have that.

My issue turned out to be related to the Woocommerce Subscription plugin. I had not updated that plugin in quite some time. I had to renew my subscription and install the latest update. Once I did that, the error went away.

I’m glad the culprit was found, @allennichelabs, and everything is working as expected again. Just to note, it is good practice to keep frequent backups and the plugins updated.

I’ll go ahead with closing this thread, since the issue is resolved, and I see that @czeller has already posted in a separate thread.
