Often this is a permalinks issue. In your permalinks settings, save back to default and test if you can comment. If that works, then set back to your custom structure

yup…its a permalink issue. reset your permalinks as I direceted
your comment link is trying to go to:
http://caroline.winship.ca/%20http:/caroline.winship.ca/page/123#respond
which obviously isn’t right
in your admin area, go to settings-> permalinks
select default, save (even if you already have default, save again)
changed the permalink settings… solved the problem!

sure….you should be able to go back to custom structure now, and have them work. Sometimes permalinks just flake out and need reset
Mine was already set to default, and resaving the setting didn’t fix it.

It would appear you are not having the exact same problem at all….
What exactly is the issue you are having. If I go to your news category, and pick the test post, your comment form pops up just fine…

I had to separately authorize ‘comments on pages’ in the theme configuration settings. Please accept my apologies for wasting your time.
I too am very new to this, and most of it is pretty sensible to figure out, but some of it is a bit opaque. Thanks for helping!

I am new to word press and I cannot figure out how to allow comments on my posts and pages.
I have checked (and double checked) that I having everything set to “allow” comments and my theme has code for allowing comments.
but when anybody clicks on the option to comment it simply says
“Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here. “
what am i missing here?
theme being used is Girly Diaries by Themes Junction
