• I’ve read through threads regarding this similar problem in the forums several times but was unable to find a clear solution. Hoping someone has figured this out.

    I’m unable to preview posts when editing and receive a “Sorry, you are not allowed to preview drafts” error. Everything has worked on this site w/no problems for the year it has been active. The last time I added a new plugin or made a significant change was over a month ago. Then last week I began receiving the error.

    To troubleshoot I have:

    • reset permalinks;
    • cleared cache & deleted cookies (site, browser, cloudflare, etc);
    • made sure WP & Site URLs are correct in setting & database (even tried to force via functions.php & wp-config.php);
    • deactivated all plugins;
    • switched to Twenty Sixteen theme;
    • turned on debugging – received a notice for undefined index in mu-plugin/featured-post.php but corrected the line in question;
    • checked in Chrome & Firefox.

  • I also recommend to check domain names. I see that you posted the site without the www, make sure it matches the installation and also check if the https is configured correctly

    Did you upgrade WordPress recently? Are you sure there isn’t a theme setting that is causing the problem?

    Also try Troubleshooting with your browser: Your browser can help you identify JavaScript issues or conflicts and this article can assist you in doing that diagnosis. This could help identify Visual Editor issues as well.

    @a2hostingrj yes, all configured correctly, even after last WP update. As I said all was well then boom! My hosting company can’t replicate the error and claim they can preview with no probs. At their request, I sent a screencast w/date & time & IP so they could view logs. All browsers are up to date and I’ve tested w/all extensions disabled as well.

    @t-p I had turned it over to my host before seeing your suggestion but will definitely read that article, thanks.
