    Hi!
I’m working with the Salient theme in order to create a portfolio website and I’m using your WPUF to create forms for the submission of new projects.
Every submission create a new “portfolio item” (it is the custom post type provided with Salient for the portfolio).
I have two kind of projects, and you can find them in “project Categories”: the taxonomy provided with Salient for the portfolio-items.
I want to create two forms, one for each type, and set the default-category for one and for the other, so the user doesn’t have to select it.
I already created them and set everything as expected, but when I submit a new portfolio-item, it is correctly generated, but no category box is flagged.

    Why?
    Everything works with normal posts.

    Thank you for your attention.
    Simone

  • Hello poc_product,

I need to know how have you created the custom post type.

If you have created the custom post type using the CPT UI plugin, then you have to edit the custom post type and select the WP category. Please check the video, here I have shown how to edit the custom post type.

Next when I selected the default category in a custom post type post form then the category appears in the newly submitted post.

    Hello!
    Thank you for the reply.
I didn’t create the post type because it is provided by the Salient, the theme.
Anyway, now I’m installing CPT UI in order to try to manage the taxonomy.

If you have further advice or recommendation, I’ll be happy to know them πŸ™‚

CPT UI gives access only to custom-post-type created with CPT Ui, so I don’t have access to the post-type named “Portfolio Item”.

    Hello Simone,

In CPT-UI you have to create the post type “Portfolio Item” separately.

I don’t have to create the post-type. It is provided by tht theme.
    This is the set-up:
I use Salient by Nectar as theme for the website.
Salient provides the “portfolio-item” because it can automatically generate a grid to show all the projects.
This “portfolio-item” has also its own taxonomy made by Project Category and Project Attributes.
At the moment, my forms are able to generate new “portfolio-items”, but they have not the default Project Category I set from the “Post Settings” menu.

    Hello @chippalb2,

I have checked from the settings, I can see the default post category from the post form’s settings option, you can check the video.

Please check the screenshot. You have to make sure your theme’s custom post type allows it. When I create a post type using CPT UI, I get to edit whether I want to support the default category of WP in the custom post type.

    Regards,
