Hi Frank,
There is nothing in Document Gallery that should prevent uninstallation. Can you please try disabling all other plugins and switching to a default WP theme, then try uninstall again? The only thing I can think of is that some other plugin is doing something odd preventing DG from being able to uninstall cleanly.

Hi Frank,
Any update on whether this resolved your issue? Here is another instance of this happening with some more details on why it happens: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/are-you-sure-you-want-to-do-this-image-trouble/

I have the same problem. Can’t uninstall document gallery….
If I switch theme, I’m afraid many settings will get lost. Disabling plugins did not do the trick. If I take a backup, fix the problem by changing theme, restore the backup, then I assume the problem will come come back? Any good tips on how to not loose a lot of work? Is there anything else the developer can do in this case? According to the recommended post: “the most likely candidates to cause this error are plugins and themes not using nonce properly”. I’m using Avada and I have a hard time thinking this solid theme would cause this problem. I might be wrong though…

I as well am having a problem uninstalling this Plugin. I installed it on a staging site, tried it out and for the purposes of what I need at the moment, this did not quite work. So I deactivated it and then went to delete it and the Plugin will not be deleted. Luckily in my case this was done on a staging site and not our live site otherwise I would be extremely upset with the developer of this Plugin. As it is, I can delete the staging site and install a new staging site and it will not be there – but I will be referencing in my notes of Plugins NOT TO USE this one again. Too bad because I liked the idea of it and might have consider it for future projects.
Unfortunately I installed it on the live site (hidden behind a coming soon page) in order to be able to communicate easier with the customer. So, it´s pretty annoying. Any comments, new ideas or efforts to solve this from the developer?
I just want to assure everyone that this is not being ignored. I have been swamped and not had a chance to investigate further yet.
I have been able to reproduce the problem and am hoping to find a few minutes this weekend to try and figure out what is going on.
Thank you all for your patience and I apologize for the inconvenience. If you want to uninstall, for now just disable Document Gallery and once this is resolved you can do a full uninstall.

Thank you dan! Glad to know you succeeded to reproduce the problem and that you are searching for a solution. Crossing my fingers you find one.
All,
If you update to DG 4.2.6, you should now be able to uninstall DG.
I apologize for the delay in getting the fix out and thanks for your patience!
