Download failed.: The checksum of the file (d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e) does not match the expected checksum value (6ba2863e319532a6cbd3a6657ecf9eb2).

    Installation Failed

and the following message from filezilla –

Response: 331 User OK. Password required
    Command: PASS **********
    Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

    can anyone help please

The FileZilla error has nothing to do with WordPress. Check with your host about the proper id and password for FTP.

As for the download error, that typically occurs due to a full file system. Ask your host if your account is at or over file system quota and if the tmp file system for your server is full or close to full.

Thanks for that Steve – all sorted now. I hate being a newbie to stuff as it’s the first site I have done and have had to work everything out for myself as nobody else has the slightest clue.
