Can’t use fuction return value

    I updated the plugins on a website and am now getting the message “Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home4/glenp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/video-embed-thumbnail-generator/video-embed-thumbnail-generator.php on line 8671.” Can you please help? I cannot get to the plugin to deactivate via wordpress.

    I think you only see that error if your server is running PHP version lower than 5.5. WordPress currently requires at least version 5.6. I know a lot of servers out there aren’t updating their PHP though. Email me at [email protected] and I’ll send you a revised file you can upload using FTP or your website’s control panel.

    Thank you so much! I had the host update the version of PHP, and that fixed the problem. I really appreciate your quick response.

    Great! Sorry I didn’t realize that would trigger a fatal error but also glad you updated PHP.
