Hi Farhan – I’m having the exact same issue as the user reported in this post (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/attachments-cause-http-error-500/)
which has been marked resolved (but there’s no resolution steps in the post).

The attachment URLs look the same as that user’s do, e.g.,
    https://www.(mydomain).com/wp-admin/?aol_attachment=W:/Websites/wordpress_weisbuilders_dot_com/wp-content/uploads/applyonline/XYZs-Resume.doc

I’ve reinstalled the plugin, deactivated it, reactivated it, restarted IIS, but it’s still not working. That link looks like it’s missing the name of a php file, but I”m not sure what it looked like when it was working.

This problem started after we upgraded wordpress from 5.0 to 5.1.1

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,

Really sorry to know that things are not working at your side. Can you please give Development Version a try ? You can download it from the link: https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/apply-online.zip

Also deactivate & then reactivate Development Version to setup things on plugin activation.

    Best of luck.

Thanks for the quick response Farhan. I did those steps. It’s now showing the plugin as version 2.0, but unfortunately the attachment viewing issue remains.
Let me know if I can do any other diagnosis for you.

Side note regarding version 2.0 – we discovered a bug in that dropdown selections in the application form are ignoring (not displaying) the first option listed as a choice. The workaround appears to starting the option list with a comma.

2.0 is development version. You should revert to the latest stable release of this plugin. Also, can you please contact on plugin’s website for in-depth analysis of the bug? Once we finds a solution we will share it in this thread.

    Thank you.
