I am using the Twenty Fifteen theme (and have also created an underscore.me theme, tried Twenty Fourteen, Twenty Thirteen) and noticed that when viewing the carousel the captions do not appear. When I switch to a different theme (such as Twenty Twelve or most other themes I have randomly installed in order to test) they miraculously appear.

Is there a trick to get captions to show?

I think the problem maybe with WordPress 4.2.2 and Jetpack 3.5.3.

I had an old WordPress site running WordPress 3.7.4 and was able to use the Twenty Fourteen theme and have the captions displayed in the Carousel.

I created a new test site and tested using WordPress 4.2.2 and Jetpack 3.5.3 and once again had issues with the captions.

I can’t seem to reproduce the issue on my end. Here is an example of a site using WordPress 4.2.2 and Jetpack 3.5.3, and as you can see the caption appears:

Could you post a link to one of the pages where you experience the issue, so I can have a look?

    Jeremy, thanks for the reply.

I received an e-mail from Adam over at Jetpack Support and he said that there is a bug in Jetpack that causes the missing captions. If you use the Tiled Galleries (as you did) the captions will appear; if you use the non-mosaic gallery – bye bye captions!

He has requested a fix here: https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/2262
