Can you also try switching to FlexSlider to see if that works?

You can temporarily copy the caption text from the General tab over to the Title text on the SEO tab and it will render that in the Nivo-caption. I was having the same issue on several sites using the NivoSlider. I won’t update any other sites until this gets fixed, hopefully soon. I don’t want the HTML in the image title tag for too long.

It’s sorted and in testing now so should be released in just a few hours. Sorry for the inconvenience. Alternatively, you may switch to FlexSlider, as this bug is specific to NivoSlider only.
