To answer your question properly whether you need premium version or not, i need more information…
Where do you want to send the data after you grab them? and the UTMs only ones you are interested in (primarily utm_campaign, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_term, utm_content) capturing and sending?
To give you and idea, most people collect UTMs in their optin forms and sync it to the their CRMs. For that FREE version is suffice, you can use Contact Form 7, Ninja Form or Gravity Form and collect UTMs in the form and sync to your favorite CRM.
If you need more support (other forms such as Thrive Leads, Elementor, WooCommerce etc), and interested in capturing more than UTMs such as organic traffic, value track (google ads), facebook ads params (like placements), then i highly recommend for you to upgrade.
Ideally, what I’d like to know is the average number of pages users view after visiting my site from push notification. Knowing this would help me get a more accurate sense of the value of the notifications.
They will arrive at the site with UTM params in the URL but I assume that information would be lost if they navigated to another page.
Would HANDL UTM Grabber maintain the UTM params as they visit other pages? If so, that’s all I need, as I can set up a Google Analytics filter to tell me the rest.
HandL UTM Grabber records the UTMs in the COOKIES as soon as user hits the website. So it is always available in the COOKIES whenever you need them.
To my understanding, you are trying to append UTMs to your URLs automatically as users navigate through your site (pages).
You can use “Append UTM” function available in FREE version to start with. It automatically appends UTMs all the links to your site automatically.
Actually, I was looking for just the opposite. When people arrive at my site from a Webpushr link, they will have UTM params in the LINK.
I don’t want to put these UTMs into a form, as I’m not generating leads and needing to track where they came from. I just want some way of knowing how many pages a user visits on my site after clicking on one of my push notifications.
yes i understand, that’s why i recommended appending UTMs to all the internal links so GA can track it. Otherwise you won’t be able to track them.I presume you are using GA for tracking right?
I am indeed using GA for tracking. Though it appears I don’t need to do anything after all. I set a filter in GA to show me the visitors with the Webpushr UTM codes and, sure enough, GA gives me the Pages/Session for just those visitors.
I appreciate your time and patience on this. I will definitely come back to your plugin in the future if I ever need to track lead conversion!
