Card fields missing during checkout
-
Hi @rhett2,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand that issues like this can be quite frustrating and concerning.
Just to confirm, you’re saying that when you install and activate the WooPayments plugin, the card field that previously appeared on your site disappears — but when you deactivate WooPayments, it reappears, correct?
If that’s the case, could you please clarify whether this happens right after activating and deactivating the plugin, or if you already have WooPayments fully set up?
When replying, please also share your System Status Report by going to WooCommerce > Status > Get System Report > Copy for Support, and then paste it to Pastebin and share the link here.
It happens when I activate your plugin that takes deposits for products. You can see it in the cart. https://chixsurfschool.com.au/checkout/
Hi @rhett2,
Thanks for the clarification. I was able to reproduce the issue you’re referring to. I also noticed you’re using the Stripe payment gateway rather than WooPayments.
To keep everything organized and ensure you get the most relevant support, I’ll go ahead and mark this topic as resolved. I recommend opening a new topic in the dedicated Stripe support forum:

Frank Remmy (woo-hc).
I’ve shared the woo commerce report via pastebin.
@frankremmy The problem is not with stripe. Because if I turn off your plugin, the credit card fields appear. If I turn your plugin on, the fields then disappear.
I don’t want to use woocommerce payment gateway. I only want to use Stripe because we use it with all our websites.
Can you please tell me a work around to use your plugin and work with stripe? If this is not possible, I understand0, we will just need to use another plugin that takes deposits.@frankremmy just letting you know I just installed another plugin for the same function and its working fine. So I’ll just use this other plugin. Appreciate your attention on the matter, its a shame we couldn’t use it because it looks better than all the others.
Hi @rhett2,
Thanks so much for clarifying, and for sharing that update with us. I’m glad to hear you found a plugin that works for your needs, though you couldn’t continue using ours, especially since you mentioned it looked better than the others. We really appreciate your kind words.
We weren’t entirely sure whether the issue stemmed from WooPayments or Stripe, so your feedback helps narrow things down. If you’re open to troubleshooting further, perhaps on a staging environment, we’d love to help you get it working so you can keep enjoying the plugin.
Just to confirm, which plugin are you currently using to handle deposits? Is it Flexi Deposits or a third-party solution? Also, since you’ve already shared your System Status Report via Pastebin, could you drop the link here so we can take a closer look?
It’s worth noting that the deposits plugin could include a setting that can disable specific payment gateways when deposit products are added to the cart. This is designed to control which payment methods are available for those transactions.
To check this:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Products → Deposits
- Look for the option called “Disable Payment Gateways”
- See if Stripe (or your card payment method) is selected
- If it is, uncheck it to allow Stripe to appear at checkout with deposit products
The settings might differ if the plugin is from third-party, but the goal is always the same.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, you can also go to WooCommerce → Status → Logs and share any related logs you find there. That might help us pinpoint what’s going on behind the scenes.
Let us know if you’d like to give it another shot.
