Cart always shows the same default items while “empty”

    Hello all, I hope you are having a good day!

    The cart in our WooCommerce (version 6.9.4) shop (the theme is Flatsome) is behaving in a very weird way: If no item is placed in the cart, the cart icon and popup show always the same three items; a product bundle [we use YITH Product Bundle] and two shampoos. However, opening up the cart page shows that the cart is empty. Putting an item in the cart solves this optical issue. When the item is removed again, the faulty cart icon shows up again.
    Even more puzzling and astonishing, when a customer places an item in the cart, it will show up in the cart of another person browsing the website (on their own device and own IP address).
    The following fixes were tried but did not yield results:
    – Updating the PHP Version from 7.4 to 8.0 or 8.1
    – WooCommerce Version 7.0.0 (issue seems independent from the update)
    – Disabling the YITH Product Bundle
    – Different Flatsome header/cart icon settings
    Of course, these changes were tested on multiple devices and with reloading cache in the backend as well as an emptied cache on the device.

    If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, we would be very happy! We are running out of ideas and dont know what to do… Thanks so much in advance!

    Hi,

    I was able to see the issue from my end. That’s odd.

    For better assistance, can you please share a copy of your site’s System Status that is under WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.  That way, we can take a better look at the site’s configuration. Thanks.

    Furthermore, it seems like your theme is overriding the default WooCommerce templates.

    Meaning, maybe your theme is overriding things properly for WooCommerce 6.9.4, but you’re now on 7.0 so the override doesn’t work anymore.

    You can check this guide to learn more about fixing outdated WooCommerce templates.

    Please reach out to your theme developer to see if they have anything to say about this, perhaps we can help based on their reply. 🙂
