Case Sensitive site URL
-
This may be a server or wordpress config thing, so if it is I apologize. If it is truly an issue in the plugin, this is really just a very low priority feature request that I thought I would just bring to your attention.
Recently my client changed the WordPress site URL (in Settings>General) to have two upper-case letters.
I noticed that when I tried to login, WordPress took me to the not_found page every time. Just for kicks, I removed the Better WP Security section in my htaccess file, and I was able to login via the wp-login.php URL. After trying to change settings in Better WP Security to see what was causing the issue to no avail, I noticed the change my client had made to the site URL. After changing it back to all lowercase, I was able to login again with no problem.
So, I’m wondering if the information Better WP Security creates in the htaccess file is case sensitive, and could be a matter of adding a rule or something. If it has nothing to do with your plugin, again, don’t worry about it. If it does, I just wanted to make you aware that people who may not know better may change some characters to upper/lowercase in their site URL and cause login issues.
In the meantime I’ve told my client to NOT TOUCH the site URL. 🙂
