It may be a problem with your terminology, or it could be why your plan is not working.
You are using the concept of “categories” in connection to files and downloads. The truth is that within WordPress it is only POSTS which are assigned categories. Maybe what you want is to create a POST for each category, and in each post put the html link that downloads the relevant file. Is this what you had in mind ?
If it is not what you had in mind, could you describe what you want and what you have done in more detail.
my site is a platform for people to upload their files to sell. Once you upload a file there is a section where you can select which category for it to fall under (i.e. business tech, corporate finance, etc). However, after a category is selected in the ‘download categories’ section it doesn’t appear on the site when a category is selected from the drop down menu. hope this makes more sense.
My guess is that you are using a plugin to do the file upload, sales and downloads. Is this correct ?
Suggest that you seek support from the plugin authors.
