Categories

New categories that I create don’t display on list of categories in the admin or in the sidebar on page edit. They are going into the database but not displaying. If I try to create the category I already created that isn’t displaying it says that it already exists. Anyone have any idea what this is about? I cleared the cache on the server and makes no difference.
