Categories *CANNOT* be removed from navbar
-
Hey folks,
WordPress newbie here. I like the software a lot, but something that has been frustrating me for 2 whole hours now is the apparent impossibility of removing the categories from the nav bar.
I’m using WP 2.8 and the “7Color” theme. Now I want to remove the categories from the navbar. (I wouldn’t mind removing the meta data from the sidebar, either, but that’s another issue :P) Now, I’ve gathered that I’m supposed to delete/edit the list_category code, etc.
Trouble is: That line of code isn’t there. I know I sound like a total dolt, but it isn’t. It’s not in the header.php, the index.php, or the css style sheet. I have searched all three for the terms. This piece of code simply doesn’t show up.
So, I figured it was a widget-type deal. It isn’t, though. In fact, according to my WP admin area, even my sidebar is *empty*; — even though it has several links in it.
I am confused. Why might this be, and how *do* I get rid of the category link in the nav bar? I hope you guys can offer a newb some guidance.
