Well… it depends on exactly what you’re trying to do.
It doesn’t sound like you need to make any PHP edits.
Assuming that is true (and that this is for “Posts”), you should be able to head to the dashboard, then go to Posts > Categories.
From there you can make edits, delete, etc. to your categories. Note, you may need to click directly on the category from that page to change the parent/child relationships.

Yes, thanks, it does. I tried to edit the theme itself. Forgot I could change it in the Admin area.
It took me a long time to find a coder at jobs* but I’ve found someone knowledgeable and inexpensive.
After fifteen months I can finally work on a site! 😁

Nothing in my admin area allows me to delete or rearrange categories. What am I missing?
