What you’re asking is quite complicated. What is preventing you from having the same categories on the two blogs?
Well,
What we aim is to provide content from our content bank to all websites in our network.
Each website is owned by different people, therefore changing or creating new categories is not an option.
Every website has its own purpose and has been planned and built to accomplish their own goals, as well as the needs and vision of the individual or organization behind the project. This is why the categories name and structure has to be unique for each one.
However, when it comes to the content, we have articles that fit in different categories. For example, an article talking about “Start up companies in Israel”, would fit in Economics in a website while it fits in Middle East in the other. ¿Does this make sense?
It does. It’s also painfully difficult. But if it needs to be done, then it needs to be done.
Mail me and we can speak about the details.

We’ve also been having issues with categories (though we were on 3WPBroadcast v1.8 so this may have been fixed since then). It seemed that the broadcasted post copied the category ID’s of the original post – which led to broadcasted posts having unwanted categories checked (ie the categories were renamed on the target blog, or new categories were created on original + target but with different names and so on).
A better solution would be while broadcasting to a given blog, grab that blogs category list. If the category name AND ID match up, apply that category.
But as I said, I’m unsure if this has already been fixed since 1.8. Working on updating the plugin now once the issues in my other thread have been fixed.
The older versions still contain various bugs, and I’m not really into going into legacy code to backport the fixes, seeing that the whole structure of the plugin has changed dramatically between v1 and v2.
