Categorised gallery

I’m currently working on a site using the twenty eleven theme and there’s a page with a list of members with their pictures and what instruments they play (it’s for a band). I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good plugin that could be used or quite easily modified for the purpose of arranging these images into categories on the page. For example, there would be a heading for a particular instrument, followed by a set of photos of band members that play these instruments with each of their names underneath their corresponding photo. To give a clearer idea of what I mean, this is the page from the previous site:

Obviously this doesn’t look too great as it is, but it’s along similar lines. It’s not really important whether or not the photos can be viewed in a picture viewer or anything. Thumbnails are adequate. What is important is that site admins can add and remove members without much technical knowledge.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
