The free version does not allow galleries to be created for categories but I believe I can import all the NextGEN galleries I have created based on categories, so will that work to mirror categories?

    hey @checmark

I think the categories in FooGallery are a different concept to the NextGen categories.
My understanding is that categories in NextGen are used to group similar galleries?
Categories in FooGallery are used to group images within a gallery.

What you could do in FooGallery is import all NextGen galleries, and then create albums with the category name, to group your galleries within FooGallery.

Thank you, but I looked at the NextGEN importer and it shows “import ALL galleries”. If it does not group them all together then maybe I can recreate them based on the same categories?

    Hi @checmark

    Sorry for the late reply.

When you import your NextGen galleries to FooGallery, the galleries will not be grouped together or be added into one large gallery.

For example, if I import 4 galleries to FooGallery using the NextGen importer, I’ll have 4 FooGallery galleries created for me by the importer, each containing the images it had while in NextGen.

Once imported, you can then use the Album feature to group your galleries. You can also upgrade to the premium version.

    Regards,
    Elvis.
