Category auto select

Writing this topic for the second time as the first one disappeared.

When selecting one specific category during product creation a very strange bug occurs that we are unable to resolve: two other categories are “selected” as well in the checkboxes.

The buggy category is both a parent and a child category but it is not connected to the two which are “auto selected” when “checking” this category.

We tried disabling all other plugins, updated Woocommerce and tried all this with our theme of choice DIVI as well as Storefront and 2024 just to make sure.
