Category Different Color

I am trying to publish an event calendar with multiple events. In order to distinguish them I thougt of changing the Category-color. I did so while defining the event catagory; however on displaying the calendar the color remains the same (green) while I defined yellow and Purple (see January).
Anu suggestions on how to accomplish different colors per category ?
